Zero Dollar Laundry Room Makeover

Zero Dollar Laundry Room Makeover

One of the benefits of my basement hoarding is that I have frequently have enough supplies on hand to complete a weekend project without spending any additional cash.  This is particularly important for any communal areas I tackle: as an apartment renter, I don't want to spend much money on a space that isn't "mine." Hi! It’s been two years since I posted, but I haven’t been sitting idle. This year I kicked off a huge project: finishing our basement! I have a ton of backlogged content to share, so I’m going to break it up in stages in Stories. First up: architectural plans.
I shared some fun news in my IG stories today: our sunroom window project won a Driehaus Award from the Chicago Bungalow Association! Even if you don’t live in Chicagoland, the CBA is an awesome resource for information and inspiration. I’ve referenced their Bungalow Maintenance Guide continually as I work to preserve and improve our home. Thanks to @chicagobungalow for championing vintage homes!
New blog post is up: ✨The sunroom renovation reveal!✨ I plan to self-soothe with the before-and-after image sliders until we know who the next president is. Please join me! Link in profile. #chicagobungalow
This week I’m getting my neglected blog caught up on the sunroom renovation progress I’ve already shared here. The first post went up yesterday (link in profile). I plan to post photos of our finished sunroom by the end of the week. Here’s a sneak peek! Meanwhile, in IG Stories, I shared what I learned from the @chicagobungalow House Research 101 class – we need to take 3 candles off Hauslermo’s birthday cake…
Today I pulled down the tarp and we stood in our living room repeating “Wow. WOW.” This project has been in my brain for 5 years (swipe for the 2015 view) and now it’s here in the real world, bringing a transformative amount of natural light to our first floor. I can’t wait to fill it back up with plants! But first: cleaning and painting and moulding. @themarvinbrand
Thanks to everyone who’s shared in my excitement for our new sunroom and windows! There’s still a lot of work to do, but I am v happy. 💗
