Hi! It’s been two years since I posted, but I haven’t been sitting idle. This year I kicked off a huge project: finishing our basement! I have a ton of backlogged content to share, so I’m going to break it up in stages in Stories. First up: architectural plans.
I shared some fun news in my IG stories today: our sunroom window project won a Driehaus Award from the Chicago Bungalow Association! Even if you don’t live in Chicagoland, the CBA is an awesome resource for information and inspiration. I’ve referenced their Bungalow Maintenance Guide continually as I work to preserve and improve our home. Thanks to @chicagobungalow for championing vintage homes!

This week I’m getting my neglected blog caught up on the sunroom renovation progress I’ve already shared here. The first post went up yesterday (link in profile). Today I pulled down the tarp and we stood in our living room repeating “Wow. WOW.” This project has been in my brain for 5 years (swipe for the 2015 view) and now it’s here in the real world, bringing a transformative amount of natural light to our first floor. I can’t wait to fill it back up with plants! But first: cleaning and painting and moulding. @themarvinbrand
