Progress shots from today’s work. More in stories!

After 2 years of lurching progress on our 1913 bungalow’s staircase, I’ve decided to throw in the towel (and the heat gun, chemicals, sander, etc.) and bring in the professionals for this restoration job. I learned about Peter’s Wood Refinishing company from @chicagobungalow - they start tomorrow! More details in stories and on my blog - link in profile. #chicagobungalow

Super fun to see Ashley & Ross and Kim & Scott & Lucy today! I love talking shop with people who think about their houses as much as I do. Don’t worry, we took a portrait of the guys, too. 💗

This month is our 4 year anniversary in Hauslermo. We’ve made a lot of progress since we bought the house (2nd photo) and it’s definitely better than the Google Street View from 2007 (3rd photo - I highly recommend cruising around your block via old Google Maps!). Now I’m gearing up for my most significant and expensive exterior project: replacing all of the windows - including enlarging the first floor front windows to be more bungalow-appropriate. After all of 2018's work, our house is feeling really good! At this point, the finish line for Hauslermo's renovation is visible on the distant horizon (like, 2024), so I've been thinking about how to plan for the remaining to-dos.
